Safety mirrors have become more common as the years go by. In the late 1960's and early 1970's, people were lucky they even had the luxury of one mirror-the rear view-in the vehicle. In the 1980's, car and truck manufacturers started manufacturing them with a driver side view mirror. The mirrors are also used in many other places like schools, homes, churches and more. They offer a greater protection for hospitals too. This is because when the mirrors are placed at the ceiling point of a corner of a hallway, people who are about to come around a corner can see what's coming before they make he turn. The mirrors enable them to see around the corner to make sure no one is about to come through on a stretcher, as they often do in a hospital. The mirrors used in a hospital essentially prevent someone getting run over, so to speak.
